On the problem machine I installed Paper Port 14 Pro from an external optical drive.

The Paper Port Image Printer driver looks to be installed OK since it is offered as a selectable printer and when I select it, to produces a job in the print spooler from which it is then dispatched with no error messages.If this still does not work, try creating a new user account with full administrative rights and try scanning with it. I then switched back to the original admin account it it began working properly there too.
